Roger Baxter is a respected mining leader with more than three decades of industry experience. As Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Council South Africa from 2015 to 2023, he played a pivotal role in driving improvements in mine safety, spearheading the adoption of leading global practices and repositioning the Minerals Council as a modern, strategic and influential body.
He is the founding Chair of the World Platinum Investment Council, immediate past President of the Mining Industry Association of Southern Africa (2019–2022) and former Chair of the ICMM Associations Coordinating Group (2020–2022). Named Mining Thought Leader of the Year in 2020, Roger has also been listed among MiningMX’s “100 most influential people in Africa’s mining sector.” In 2024, Roger was inducted into the South African Mining Hall of Fame for his leadership contribution to the South African mining industry. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Natal.

Johan Odendaal is a mineral economist with more than 36 years’ experience in mining and finance. He co-founded Minxcon in 2005 and has advised leading mining companies, investors and financial institutions across valuations, mine-financial analysis and corporate strategy. Johan previously headed mining research at a leading South African brokerage and was Vice President at Merrill Lynch. He is also CEO of Miracle Upon Miracle Investments (MUM). Johan holds a B.Sc. in Geology, a B.Sc. (Hons) in Mineral Economics, and an M.Sc. in Mining Engineering.

Mike currently serves as Independent Non-Executive Chair of Base Resources Limited and Non-Executive Director of Firestone Diamonds PLC. He was Interim Chair of Southern Palladium from May to December 2023.

Daan van Heerden is a mining engineer with over 30 years of operational and corporate experience. He has managed both underground and open-cast operations for major and junior companies, led new business development initiatives and been actively involved in mergers and acquisitions. At Minxcon, he heads the Mining Engineering division, providing expertise in valuations, feasibility studies, due diligence, finance structuring and technical reviews. Daan holds a B.Eng. in Mining Engineering, a Master of Commerce and a Mine Manager’s Certificate.

Rob Thomson has a 40-year international mining career, building and commercialising gold and base-metal projects into successful operations, including Sepon, Chatree, Didipio and Wetar. He has held senior leadership roles as CEO, Executive Director and Project Director, and was Managing Director of Theta Gold Mines from 2016 to 2021. Rob holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) from the University of Queensland, an MBA from the University of Wollongong, and is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. He currently serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Pacific Nickel Mines Limited and Bayrock Resources Limited.

Lindi Nkosi-Thomas is a Senior Counsel and member of the Johannesburg Bar, having been called in 1994 and appointed silk in 2009. She has acted in numerous high-profile legal matters of national importance, advised government and state-owned companies and periodically served as an Acting Judge of the High Court. Lindi is Chair of Miracle Upon Miracle Investments (MUM), Southern Palladium’s joint venture partner in the Bengwenyama PGM project, where MUM is majority-owned by the local Bengwenyama community.
